Aviation Community Charity Movie 2012
The CAAS Aviation Community Charity Movie, an Aviation Community Cares initiative, was held on Friday, 2 Nov 2012 at SHAW Theatres Lido. Mr Lui Tuck Yew, Minister for Transport, was the Guest-of-Honour for the event and it was attended by management, staff and family members of the Ministry of Transport and its statutory boards, corporate partners, as well as the beneficiaries of Sunlove Abode for Intellectually-Infirmed Limited.
Since 2009, CAAS has taken the lead to garner the aviation community’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, in particular to help the less fortunate by raising funds for the charities supported by Community Chest. In 2011, the Aviation Community Cares, an overarching platform for the aviation community to make a positive impact on society, was officially launched to reinforce this effort.
A total of $121,528 was raised for the CAAS’ Aviation Community Charity Movie this year and Director-General CAAS, Mr Yap Ong Heng, presented the cheque to Mr Hwang Peng Yuan, Vice-Chairman of the Community Chest Committee at the event.
Mr Lui Tuck Yew, Minister for Transport, presented appreciation mementos to all the corporate partners, in recognition of their invaluable support, partnership and commitment towards this charitable cause.
Besides spearheading the Aviation Community Cares initiative, CAAS also has a HOPE Fund that supports the Rainbow Centre – Margaret Drive School, which cares for children with multiple disabilities.
