About CAAS

The Aviation Manpower Programme (AMP) aims to bolster manpower development efforts of the Singapore aviation industry. It comprises initiatives to attract and retain talent to the industry, as well as to retain, develop and upgrade the aviation talent pool and workforce.

Various initiatives have been launched under the AMP:

Aviation Learning Journeys
CAAS launched the Aviation Learning Journeys (ALJ) in January 2011. Targeted at  upper secondary school and junior college students, the ALJ provides a platform for students to understand more about aviation – the history of aviation, key achievements of Singapore aviation, and the various career opportunities the industry offers. It also provides an opportunity to observe first-hand the dynamic work environments in the industry. As part of the ALJ, students can look forward to visiting places such as the Singapore Air Traffic Control Centre, aerospace engine repair workshops and aircraft hangers.

Teachers interested in sending their students through the Aviation Learning Journeys may contact us at the below-mentioned email. Prior notice of at least 2 weeks is required.

CAAS Aircraft Maintenance Examination Rebate System
Under the CAAS Aircraft Maintenance Examination Rebate Programme launched in March 2011, students undergoing pre-employment training in the Institutes of Higher Learning will enjoy a rebate for passing each examination that is a pre-requisite for an individual to be a licensed aerospace professional. The rebate will assist and encourage students to take and pass the examinations prior to graduation. The Programme will contribute to meeting the steady demand of the aerospace industry for qualified personnel.

Students may approach their schools for further information on their claim eligibility and/or submission of claims. Alternatively, a request may be sent to CAAS at the below-mentioned email.

Aviation Horizons Scholarship
The Aviation Horizons Scholarship, a partnership between CAAS and aviation companies, seeks to support the aspirations of youths to further their studies through a scholarship, whilst gaining valuable working experience. Successful applicants will work for a partner aviation company, and simultaneously have their part-time diploma or degree programme sponsored.

All scholarships will be jointly offered by CAAS and an aviation company. Aviation companies interested to become a Sponsoring Partner under the Aviation Horizons Scholarship programme are invited to contact CAAS at the below-mentioned email.

Complimenting CAAS’ own youth outreach activities, the seed fund seeks to support the creation of sustainable outreach and engagement platforms that cater to varying student audiences.

Aviation companies, associations, student groups and Institutes of Higher Learning involved in aviation-related activities are welcome to apply for funding.
