The Airport Systems Technology Research & Innovation Platform, or AIRSTRIP in short, is a joint initiative by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). To encourage the development of new aviation-related technology in Singapore, CAAS - the owner and operator of Singapore Changi Airport - will allow suitable technology to be trial tested in the airport. EDB will also consider funding projects under its Innovation Development Scheme (IDS). Singapore Changi Airport, consistently rated the best airport in the world by numerous international publications, provides the ideal environment to test new aviation-related technology. The high passenger and aircraft volume at Changi Airport will allow organisations the opportunity to put their technology through a rigorous test. Interest Areas Areas of interest would include, but are not limited to : - Passenger identification and tracking
- Check-in
- Baggage handling
- Aircraft tracking
- Wireless communications
- Vehicle management
Eligibility Criteria - The programme is open to all Singapore registered firms, companies or organisations.
- Projects should involve substantial development work done in Singapore.
Work involving customisation or reconfiguration of commercially available systems will generally not qualify.
