The ASSU (Aerodrome standards and safety unit) was setup in 2003 to spearhead the certification of aerodromes in Singapore and to enforce continuous compliance with aerodrome safety regulations. The Manual of Aerodrome standards are published by the ASSU under para 67B of the Singapore ANO (Air Navigation Order) and contains :
The procedures for the certification of aerodromes.
Aerodrome standards, recommended practices and guidance materials pertaining to the planning, operation and maintenance of aerodrome services, facilities and equipments to be complied with by aerodrome operators.
Safety Directives and Publications are also published by the ASSU from time to time for purposes of promulgating supplementary guidance materials to the Standards and Recommended Practices in the Manual of Aerodrome Standards.
