CAAS role in Building Development Industry
Height Limit Consultation
Background
CAAS imposes height restrictions on buildings around civil aerodromes in accordance with the standards and recommended practices of the International Civil Aviation Organisation. This is to ensure that tall structures will not pose a safety hazard to aircraft operating in Singapore. Accordingly, building developers are required to consult CAAS on the height limit of buildings during the planning / development stages. When to consult CAAS? Please refer to the attached map of Singapore. CAAS should be consulted on the height limit of any building developments that fall within the green zone, regardless of the proposed building height. As for developments within the red zone, CAAS only needs to be consulted if the proposed building height exceeds 150 m AMSL (above mean sea level). Required information for height limit consultation
To consult CAAS for height limit, the following information / documents should be submitted
- Site plan preferably of scale 1:10,000;
- Proposed building height.
