This course provides practical knowledge on planning, preparation and management of underwater search and recovery of flight recorders through hands-on training in the use of flight recorder detection and localisation equipment at sea. Those who should attend include aircraft accident investigators, airline safety investigators and personnel involved in oversight of accidents and serious incidents from civil aviation administrations, airports, safety and regulatory bodies, airlines and aircraft manufacturers, law enforcement, maritime, navy, government agencies and airport emergency services.

MITRE-CAAS Air Traffic Management Research and Development Centre Takes Shape in Singapore

The MITRE Corporation (MITRE) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) signed a seven-year contract today, with an option for a further three-year extension, to enable MITRE to establish an advanced technology research laboratory, focused on Air Traffic Management (ATM) and office in Singapore. This follows the signing of a Statement of Intent at the Singapore Airshow earlier this year in February.

Dring the event at the Changi Exhibition Centre, over 2,000 people formed a human airplane - setting the record for the "Largest Human Formation of an Airplane" in the Singapore Book of Records.
