Application for Repair Design Approval

Designs for repairs to Singapore-registered aircraft and aircraft components must be approved by CAAS or CAAS-approved design organisations.

Major repair designs that appreciably affect the weight, balance, structural strength, performance, power-plant operation, flight characteristics or other qualities affecting airworthiness; or one that is not done according to accepted practices or elementary operations must be approved by CAAS.

Minor repair designs may approved by either CAAS or a Design Organisation Approval holder with the appropriate scope of approval granted by CAAS.

CAAS has inked agreements with foreign civil aviation authorities that allows for validation of foreign repair design approvals. You may find the list of agreements at this page.

Note: All costs incurred for the application evaluation will be recovered from you. The application fees are prescribed in the Singapore Airworthiness Requirements (SAR) Part 21 and Twelfth Schedule of the Singapore Air Navigation Order (ANO).
