Departure Check-In > GST / Tax refunds

Prior to check-in, a passenger who wishes to claim his Goods and Service Tax (GST) refunds for bulky goods (e.g. televisions sets) purchased in Singapore can proceed to the Customs GST Refund Inspection Counter located at the Departure Hall. The passenger has to produce the GST claims form (obtained from the retail outlets upon purchase of the goods) and the goods concerned for inspection by the Customs officer. Upon verification of the purchases, the Customs officer would endorse the claim form. For Global Refund, the passenger can drop the claim form into the Global Refund Claim Box located at the Departure Hall. For all other cases, the passenger must mail back the endorsed form to the retailer. There will be no refund processed at Seletar Airport.

For application of GST refund for  hand-carried goods, a passenger has to produce the GST claim forms and the goods for inspection by the Customs officer at the Customs GST Refund Inspection Counter located in the Departure Transit Lounge after he has checked in and cleared Immigration. The procedures to obtain their GST/Tax refund are the same as that in the preceding paragraph.
