Aviation Open House 2017 Returns to Showcase Diverse Career and Education Opportunities

More than 700 job vacancies available for job seekers

The Aviation Open House (AOH), organised by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) will return for its fifth edition from 24 to 26 August 20171 at the Suntec City Convention Centre. The biennial event brings the aviation community together to showcase career and education opportunities in the dynamic aviation industry.

2.      Themed “Be the Future of Aviation”, this year’s AOH will include the following event highlights:

  • Central showcase: Apart from showcasing innovative and game-changing developments and exciting opportunities in Singapore’s aviation industry through interactive displays, visitors can also read about the personal journeys of aviation professionals who work behind the scenes and contribute to the success of our aviation hub. There will also be a showcase of the Smart Tower that will transform air traffic control operations, as well as a display of some of the concept of operations on integrating unmanned aircraft systems (also commonly known as drones) into Singapore’s urbanised environment.

  • Exhibition and recruitment fair: 40 aviation employers and Institutes of Higher Learning will be engaging students, fresh graduates, and mid-career professionals in education and career opportunities through their exhibition booths. Many employers will also be conducting on-site interviews for more than 700 job vacancies at the recruitment fair, held in partnership with the Employment and Employability Institute (e2i).   • Career and education talks: Attendees can learn more about the education and employment opportunities available in the aviation industry, from representatives of leading aviation companies as well as various Institutes of Higher Learning.

  • Interactive workshops: In this series of workshops conducted by STEM Inc and Singapore Scouts Association, visitors can try their hand at assembling a glider air rocket, while learning about the fundamental principles of aeronautics
