CAAS has granted approval to Jetstar Asia, SilkAir, Singapore Airlines, and Scoot Tigerair to carry cargo in the passenger cabin of their aircraft when these aircraft are used for cargo flights. These carriers are required to comply with a set of conditions such as ensuring that the cargo is loaded in accordance to the loading specifications of the cabin’s storage areas, ensuring that the cargo is properly packed and secured for various flight conditions (including turbulence or an emergency landing), and placing cargo in areas that do not impede access to emergency exits. Dangerous goods are not permitted on such flights. Cabin crew are also required to be on board these flights to manage any in-flight emergencies.
