Applying for an Aircraft Radio Operator Approval

General Criteria

To qualify for an Aircraft Radio Operator Approval (AROA), you will need to acquire theoretical knowledge and meet all regulatory licensing requirements. Other general criteria include:

You must

  • be at least 21 years old;
  • be able to read, write and communicate in English at an understandable level; and
  • pass the Radio Telephony examination (subject code R12).
