Junior Airport Fire Officers (JAFO)
You will gain the competencies to manage incidents related to dangerous goods and hazardous material safely. This programme is developed in accordance with ICAO and IATA’s regulations for Dangerous Goods, (e.g. IATA’s Dangerous Goods Regulations manual).
There are 4 modules in this programme:
Module 1: JAFO Fire-fighting Techniques and Tactics (In-person)
Module 2: JAFO Dangerous Goods and Hazmat Management (In-person)
Module 3: JAFO Aircraft Hazards, Foaming Agents and Radio Telephony (Virtual classroom)
Module 4: JAFO Operations and Techniques (Virtual classroom)
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the programme, you will be able to:
- strengthen application of the different techniques and tactics in Aircraft Rescue and Fire-fighting (ARFF)
- conduct rescue operations adeptly and confidently
- manage Dangerous Goods and hazmat materials incidents effectively
- demonstrate in-depth understanding of ARFF subjects
Who Should Attend
This programme is recommended if you are a junior aircraft rescue and fire-fighting professional from civil aviation administrations, military airports, airport authorities, municipal fire brigades and fire-fighting services.
Prerequisites
- Be physically fit and physically capable of performing strenuous work during the performance of practical sessions;
- Be proficient in English; and
- Nominated by his / her employer.
