Display of lights or pyrotechnics
You need a permit to display high-intensity lights or discharge pyrotechnics or fireworks.
Displays of high-intensity lights, including lasers, and the discharge of pyrotechnics or fireworks may distract pilots and pose hazards to aircraft operations.
To ensure the safety of air navigation, such displays are generally not permitted in the vicinity of an aerodrome.
When to apply for a permit
Regardless of where the activities take place, you must apply for a permit from CAAS to:
display high-intensity lights (e.g. lasers)
discharge pyrotechnics or fireworks
Submit your application on SkySAFE with complete information at least 7 working days (excludes Sat, Sun, and public holidays) before your proposed activity begins.
Use SkySAFE to apply for a permit.
For the discharge of pyrotechnics and fireworks, you must also obtain the necessary clearances from the Singapore Police Force (SPF) on GoBusiness. Apply for clearance early to allow for processing time.
For light displays, take sufficient measures to ensure that they do not pose a hazard to air navigation.
