Air traffic management facilities
Learn about CAAS' state-of-the-art air traffic management facilities that support the safe and efficient management of aircraft movements.
Singapore has 4 air traffic management facilities, with the Changi Control Tower being one of Singapore’s most recognisable landmarks.
Changi Control Tower
Officially opened in 1981, the iconic tower stands at about 81m above mean sea level (AMSL) and is situated between Changi Airport’s runways one and two.
Located within Changi Airport, the Changi Control Tower provides aerodrome control services to aircraft:
landing and departing Changi Airport
manoeuvring within the airport
Each day, the Changi Control Tower manages about 1,000 commercial aircraft movements.
Singapore Air Traffic Control Centre (SATCC)

Located near Changi Village, the Singapore Air Traffic Control Centre (SATCC) opened in 1981 with the introduction of the Long Range Radar and Display System (LORADS).
Since then, it has been providing Approach and Area Control services, along with relevant air navigation services, to support safe and efficient aircraft operations.
Seletar Control Tower

In 2011, the old Seletar Control Tower was replaced by a new control tower measuring 32 m above mean sea level (AMSL).
Located in the north-eastern part of Singapore, the Seletar Control Tower provides aerodrome control services to aircraft:
landing and departing Seletar Airport
manoeuvring within the airport
Aircraft operating at this airport include:
maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) aircraft
business jets
light aircraft from local flight training schools
Seletar Airport also serves helicopters.
Changi Ramp Control Tower
Located at Changi Airport Terminal 4, the Changi Ramp Control Tower opened in 2017 to manage ground aircraft movements as part of the airport’s ongoing expansion to meet growing air traffic demand.
The ramp facility is a cornerstone for aircraft operations within the apron area. ATCSOs and ATCOs work together to maintain safe ground movements.
