Aircraft maintenance, design and production
Learn about the organisations that maintain aircraft airworthiness and the CAAS approvals required to perform the various activities.
Once an aircraft enters service, it’s continued airworthiness must be maintained throughout its operational life.
This is achieved through the coordinated efforts of multiple specialised organisations. Aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organisations perform maintenance in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and approved data. Where service-related issues arise, approved design organisations may develop repairs or modifications, while production organisations manufacture the parts and components necessary to support continued safe operation.
For Singapore-registered aircraft, all organisations undertaking these functions are required to hold the appropriate approvals from CAAS, ensuring compliance with Singapore’s aviation safety requirements
