What are FSTDs
Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTDs) are devices that artificially recreate aircraft flight and the environment in which it flies for pilot training, design or other purposes.
When must FSTDs be certified/approved
FSTDs must be approved when used for:
training and testing for Singapore flight crew licences
obtaining or renewing ratings linked to these licences
They must also be approved when used for professional training and checks for:
Singapore Air Operator Certificate holders
approved training organisations
owners of Singapore-registered aircraft
For details, refer to the Singapore Air Safety Publication (SASP) Part 11.
