Certificate of registration
Learn about aircraft registration in Singapore and how to apply for a Certificate of Registration.
A Certificate of Registration is an official document to show that an aircraft is properly registered in Singapore.
All aircraft operating in Singapore must display proper nationality and registration marks as required by their registering authority.
To operate an aircraft in Singapore, it must first be registered under one of the following:
the Singapore Aircraft Register
an ICAO Contracting State
a State that has an air service agreement with Singapore
For aircraft registered in Singapore, the nationality and registration marks must comply with Aviation Specifications 12 - Nationality Mark and Registration Mark.
Application process
When to apply
Aircraft owners who wish to register their aircraft in Singapore have to apply for a Certificate of Registration with CAAS.

Who can apply
The owner of an aircraft who is one of the following can apply:
the Singapore Government
a citizen of Singapore
a body incorporated in Singapore
a person residing or having a place of business in Singapore (only if the aircraft is not to be used for the purposes of commercial air transport or aerial work)

What are the fees
The applicable fees are stated in the Air Navigation (47 — Aircraft Registration) Regulations 2026 Second Schedule, and applies only for the first issuance of an aircraft's Certificate of Registration.
What is the processing time
Processing timelines vary by application type and are set out in IC 6/2025 Information circular on service standards for processing of aviation safety instruments related to airworthiness, flight operations and training organisations.
You are encouraged to engage CAAS early to discuss your Certificate of Registration application to facilitate timely processing.
How to apply
Phase 1: Pre-application
Notify CAAS of your intention to register an aircraft in Singapore.
An application for a Certificate of Registration should be followed by applications for a Certificate of Airworthiness and a Noise Certificate.
Phase 2: Formal application
Fill in and submit your application on eSOMS together with the required documents. The required documents are:
details of the owner and operator
details of the aircraft and engines
flight manual for the aircraft
purchase or lease agreement, as applicable
evidence that the aircraft is not registered elsewhere
documents supporting Reduced Vertical Separation Minima (RVSM) operations for the aircraft
evidence that the aircraft’s nationality and registration marks comply with Aviation Specifications 12 - Nationality Mark and Registration Mark
evidence that the information on the aircraft owner’s name plate is accurate
any other document or report that CAAS may require
Phase 3: Document evaluation
CAAS will review the application and documents submitted. During this phase, CAAS may request clarifications from the applicant.
Phase 4: Demonstration and inspection
CAAS may request an aircraft inspection or documentary evidence to ensure that regulatory requirements are met.
Phase 5: Certification
Upon approval, CAAS will notify the applicant and the Certificate of Registration will be available in eSOMS. Each certificate includes a QR code for authenticity.
Registration alone does not permit you to fly your aircraft in Singapore. You must also satisfy the applicable operating requirements. For details, refer to:

download and complete CAAS(AW)39 Application for registration of aircraft
submit the form using the Enquiries & Feedback Form (select ‘Safety Regulations & Approvals’ and ‘Aircraft Airworthiness and Registration’)
What is the validity period
The Certificate of Registration for an aircraft remains in force until the aircraft is deregistered, or the certificate is suspended or revoked.
What are the conditions
As the holder of a Certificate of Registration, you must continue to ensure that the aircraft remains in compliance with all applicable regulations.
You must notify CAAS and submit a variation application for any changes to the certificate. Failure to do so may lead to suspension or revocation of the certificate.
How to vary a Certificate of Registration
To vary an existing Certificate of Registration, notify CAAS and submit a variation application on eSOMS.
There are no fees for variations to a Certificate of Registration.
