Medical requirements
The medical requirements for CAAS Flight Crew and Air Traffic Controller licences are set out in the Air Navigation (67 – Aviation Medical Certification) Regulations 2026 (ANR-67) and Aviation Specifications 8 (AS-8). Which Aviation Medical Certificate (AMC) should I apply for
If you are applying for any of the CAAS Flight Crew or Air Traffic Controller licences, you must hold a valid Medical Assessment of the relevant class.

What documents do I bring
When attending a Licensing Medical Examination (LME)
Bring the following documents:
Your Singapore NRIC or FIN (foreign applicants without a FIN must bring their passport)
Your current aviation licence (CAAS or foreign), if any, and
Any medical or investigation reports about your condition. Reports must be dated within 90 days immediately prior to the date of the LME for them to be acceptable, if required to reflect your current status.
When attending an Aeromedical Review (AR)
You must bring the original medical reports from your treating physician detailing your condition and treatment, including any related investigation and therapy documentations. Your Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DME) will advise you if there are any additional reports required during the AR session.

What are the fees and processing time
Must I pay for an AMC
You must pay a fee to CAAS for each AMC application.
The fee, set out in the Air Navigation (67 – Aviation Medical Certification) Regulations 2026 Second Schedule is S$141.70 (inclusive of GST), payable at the time of application regardless of the outcome.
Please note that a professional and service fee is payable directly to the DME, and is not collected by CAAS.
How long must I wait for an AMC to be issued
After your DME submits the completed LME report to CAAS, your AMC application will be evaluated and processed within 10 working days in most cases.
Complex cases may take longer. For renewals, please schedule your LME early within the 45-day renewal window to ensure sufficient processing time before the expiry of your existing AMC.
How do I obtain an Aviation Medical Certificate (AMC)
Submit your application for an AMC
Complete the application process on the Electronic Licensing Medical Records System (ELMeRS) and make payment online as directed.
If you need a receipt of the payment made, log in to ELMeRS and search for the receipt under the ‘Documents’ tab.Schedule an appointment
After your application is successfully submitted and payment is confirmed, make an appointment for your LME.
DMEs can conduct LMEs only after your application and payment have been completed in ELMeRS.

Your AMC will be issued by the Personnel Licensing Section after you have completed your licence application in CAPELS.
To check the status of your AMC and any provisos that may apply to you:log in to ELMeRS and go to your ‘Last Medical Assessment Summary’
under the ‘Documents’ tab, look for the latest ‘CAMB Letter’ for any additional requirements or provisos
What are the validity periods of my Licensing Medical Examination (LME) and medical reports
For LME
Your LME is valid for 90 days from its start date. If your fitness certification is delayed due to additional evaluations, you must reapply and complete a new LME.
For medical and investigation reports to be submitted for LME
With the exception of medical and investigation reports needed for historical reference, all reports that reflect the current status of your medical condition must be dated within 90 days immediately prior to the date of the LME for them to be acceptable.
Is the Aviation Medical Certificate (AMC) application fee refundable
The application fee for an AMC is non-refundable. No refund will be provided regardless of the application outcome.
However, refunds may be made if there are issues such as duplicated applications or other payment processing errors. If you require a refund due to such errors, please submit your request by sending an email to CAAS_Medical@caas.gov.sg.
When submitting your request, ensure that you:
send the request using the email address linked to your ELMeRS account
state your full name and reason for requesting the refund
Please note that refunds may take up to 3 months to process.
I cannot submit my licence application on CAPELS due to an incorrect AMC expiry date, what should I do
