CAAS-Awards

Deputy Director-General of CAAS, Mr Tay Tiang Guan, receiving the PEP-SBF Pro-Enterprise Agency Award and the PEP-SBF Most Improved Agency Award from Ms Low Yen Ling, Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Education.

At the Pro-Enterprise Panel - Singapore Business Federation (PEP-SBF) Awards, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) was presented with the 'PEP-SBF Pro-Enterprise Agency Award' and the 'PEP-SBF Most Improved Agency Award'. The awards recognized CAAS for its position among the top 10 ranked agencies, and also as one of the top 3 agencies with the most improvement in the Pro-Enterprise Ranking (PER) survey results.

The PER survey, conducted by the Ministry of Trade and Industry on all government agencies, aims to assess the pro-enterprise orientation of the agencies by surveying the perceptions and expectations of businesses that had interacted with the agencies.

CAAS has shown significant improvement in the survey results this year. Its Pro Enterprise Index (PEI) increased from 72.5 in 2014 to 87.5 in 2015, and lifting its ranking amongst surveyed agencies from 14th position in 2014 to 6th position in 2015. This is the highest since CAAS’ restructuring in 2009.

The two awards are testament to CAAS’ commitment to service excellence, and efforts at creating a pro-enterprise environment for its stakeholders. An example of such efforts would be the implementation of runway efficiency measures at Changi Airport. This initiative was well received by the airlines as it enabled more expeditious take-offs without compromising safety standards.

Said Deputy Director-General of CAAS, Mr Tay Tiang Guan, who received the awards on CAAS’ behalf: “CAAS views stakeholder engagement as one of the critical factors in achieving the effectiveness of its policies. CAAS has shown a significant improvement in our ranking this year and this validates the work that we have put in to improve our stakeholder relationships. We will continue to listen and be sensitive to our partners’ needs to ensure a synergistic working relationship.”
