Basic Water Rescue Operations
You will gain the skills and knowledge in fundamental concepts, principles and techniques of watermanship, surface rescue and lifesaving, personal survival, fire-prevention, fire-fighting, elementary first aid, personal safety and social responsibilities on board fire-fighting vessels.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Achieve competency as a crew or junior member of a fire-fighting vessel
- Acquire and apply fundamental knowledge and skills in watermanship, surface rescue and lifesaving, personal survival, fire-prevention, fire-fighting, elementary first aid, personal safety and social responsibilities.

Prerequisites
- Have basic swimming skills; and
- Be physically and medically fit for strenuous training activity, including entry into water from a height.

This course is recommended if you are directly involved in the mitigation of water rescue incidents from civil aviation administrations, airports, civil defence organisations, municipal fire brigades as well as emergency and rescue services.
