Fire Patrollers

You will gain an understanding of safety procedures for welding, cutting, hot works and knowledge and use of various types of fire extinguishers required to effectively carry out duties as a Fire Patroller.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Know Fire Chemistry & Classes of Fire
  • State the common causes of fire & fire spread.
  • Understand the effects & dangers of heat, smoke & toxic gases.
  • Recognize the hazards pertaining to hot work – welding, cutting, etc
  • Adopt the correct precautions prior to start of hot works. 

  • Perform the duties of a fire patroller responsibly.
  • Recognize hazards and dangers associated with hot works processes.
  • Safe work practices at work sites for hot work & welding work
  • Operate a fire extinguisher in a correct & safe manner.
  • Retrieve & use a fire hose reel correctly.

This course is recommended if you have fire patroller responsibilities.

Participants must be able to read and write English as there will be a theory test.
