CAAS launches "Aviation Inspirations" Photography Competition
Competition to showcase the vibrant aviation industry and its impact on life in Singapore
Singapore celebrates 100 years of aviation this year. Today, aviation has brought the world closer to Singapore, transforming our city-state into a global city. As part of the year-long Singapore Aviation Centennial Celebrations, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) is organising a photography competition with the support of The Photographic Society of Singapore.
Themed "Aviation Inspirations", the photography competition invites entries under two categories. In the open category, participants are invited to submit pictures that best capture images that depict the multi-faceted aviation industry in its various forms* and how aviation has touched their lives. In the special category, photographers are invited to creatively show through their photographs and an accompanying caption "what aviation means to me".
"Aviation plays a big part in our lives, providing many necessities and opportunities. Through this competition, we hope photography enthusiasts will share inspiring pictures that epitomise the spirit and vibrancy of Singapore aviation and all that it offers." said Yap Ong Heng, Director-General, CAAS.
Winners of the competition stand a chance to win top prizes including cash as well as one pair of Singapore Airlines return economy tickets to a variety of destinations with Sao Paulo, Brazil as the top destination. The submission deadline for the competition is 30 September 2011. Winning entries will be displayed at the Aviation Open House to be held from 3 - 5 November at D’Marquee, Downtown East.
