Establishment of Temporary Restricted Area for The Conduct of Aerial Activities for National Day Parade 2016

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) will establish a temporary Restricted Area under the Air Navigation Order. This is to ensure the safety of low-level aircraft participating in the aerial flypast for National Day Parade 2016 (NDP 2016). The stated dates and timings shown below include the rehearsals and preview shows of NDP 2016 as well as the parade on the actual day. In the event of poor weather conditions, the reserve dates may also be utilised.

The temporary Restricted Area (as shown in Annex A) will encompass the National Stadium and its surrounding areas, and will extend from ground level to 4,000 feet above mean sea level.

During the stated dates and timings, unless authorised by the CAAS, the conduct of aerial activities (such as flying of unmanned aircraft, kite-flying and hoisting of captive balloon) is not allowed within and into the temporary Restricted Area, as they may endanger the aircraft participating in the aerial flypast as well as people and property on the ground.

Unauthorised conduct of aerial activities within and into the temporary Restricted Area is an offence under the Air Navigation Order. If convicted, a person in the first instance can be fined up to S$20,000 and in subsequent instances up to S$40,000 and/or imprisoned for up to 15 months.
