Flight Safety Foundation and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore Announce IASS 2011 Location

The Flight Safety Foundation (FSF) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) announced today that the Foundation's 64th annual International Air Safety Seminar (IASS) will be held in Singapore from November 1 - 3, 2011. CAAS will host the seminar, and the event is supported by the Singapore Exhibition and Convention Bureau.

More than 400 aviation safety professionals are expected to attend these three days of seminars on global aviation safety issues. "We're very pleased to present this year's IASS seminar in Singapore," stated FSF President and CEO, William R. Voss. "In addition to the usual high-quality technical presentations, we’ll have panels and keynote speakers of broad interest. This will be a valuable seminar covering important issues for anyone in the aviation business."

Topics at this year's IASS will include some of the most timely issues facing aviation, such as how to handle fatigue and pilot training, as well as a close look at global challenges. Two panel discussions will examine runway excursions and functional check flights. IASS reaches an international community, representing more than 50 countries each year. It also includes a trade show with industry vendors and sponsors.

"Singapore and CAAS are pleased to host the Flight Safety Foundation's 64th International Air Safety Seminar," said Yap Ong Heng, Director-General, CAAS. "The IASS, a longstanding and hallmark event of the FSF, is garnering ever increasing participation. It provides a useful platform for the global aviation community to share insights, views and thoughts on addressing aviation safety issues. With the involvement of all the stakeholders, it is a significant contribution to maintaining and enhancing aviation safety as air transport continues to grow globally. With our commitment to cultivating a strong safety culture across the aviation community, CAAS is honoured to partner with FSF in organising this major international event."
