Response to Media Queries on the Delayed Launch of Singapore Airlines’ New Singapore-Jakarta-Sydney Route

We are aware that Singapore Airlines (SIA) is delaying plans to launch a new route linking Singapore, Jakarta and Sydney. We understand that SIA had earlier received approval from the Indonesian civil aviation authorities, but the authorities have now indicated that SIA cannot proceed with the service due to runway maintenance works at Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

SIA’s new service will enhance air connectivity between Singapore, Jakarta and Sydney, which will facilitate people and trade flows between these cities.

We hope the Indonesian civil aviation authorities can give approval for this new service as soon as possible so that it can be launched.
