The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and Transport Canada Civil Aviation Collaborate to Enhance Aviation Safety

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on aviation safety. The MoU represents both parties’ commitment to advance their shared interests in enhancing aviation safety.

2.         CAAS and TCCA signed a technical arrangement on aviation maintenance in 2003 and revised it in 2011. This MoU will further strengthen the collaboration between both parties in areas of mutual interest such as sharing of safety information, joint research, training and other forms of technical cooperation including airworthiness certifications.

3.         Director-General of CAAS, Kevin Shum said, “CAAS is pleased to take our partnership with TCCA forward.  With this latest Memorandum of Understanding, we can expect to work more closely with TCCA towards achieving greater efficiency in our regulatory efforts and higher safety standards.”

4.         Director General of TCCA, Nicholas Robinson said, “Transport Canada Civil Aviation is proud to sign the Memorandum of Understanding in the Area of Civil Aviation Safety with our international partners at the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. As a result of our long-standing relationship and partnership on many subjects, TCCA recognizes the great value that our joint efforts can have in advancing global aviation safety.” 

5.         CAAS has concluded similar arrangements with Civil Aviation Administration of China, Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia, Department of Civil Aviation of Brunei, European Union Aviation Safety Agency, the US Federal Aviation Administration and the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand.
