Operational Training – Refresher Helicopter Fire-fighting and Rescue

This refresher course provides participants with the practical skills needed to maintain ratings/currency on use of Breathing Apparatus sets and Helicopter Fire Fighting & Rescue.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, you will be able to organise an emergency response team for helicopter fire-fighting and rescue.

What is Covered

  • Size-up a helicopter crash incident.
  • Correct approach angle for Helicopter fire- fighting.
  • Fire-fighting access and rescue
  • Hand signals
  • Fire-fighting and damage control on board vessels 
  • Command and control procedures
  • Breathing Apparatus (BA) donning
  • Apply the total fire extinguishment technique.
  • Rescue casualty/s as a team.
  • Correctly deploy stretcher to rescue casualty/s safely.

Who Should Attend

This course is recommended for Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) personnel.

Prerequisites

Have completed initial helicopter firefighting and rescue training or equivalent.
