ICAO PANS-OPS Instrument Procedures Design
You will be to gain the competencies to perform the duties of a procedure designer. The course comprises 2 modules which covers the theory and applications of ICAO Document 8168 Procedures for Air Navigation Services (PANS-OPS). It also examines the required applications of electronic geographical databases and computer-aided techniques. Each module can be taken as a stand-alone course.
Module 1: ICAO PANS-OPS Instrument Procedures Design: General Criteria and Conventional Practices
Module 2: ICAO PANS-OPS Instrument Procedures Design: Criteria for RNAV, GNSS and RNP
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Apply general criteria for procedure design and specific criteria for non-precision approaches using conventional navigation and precision Performance Based Navigation (PBN) approaches
- Identify the latest trends in the formulation of instrument procedures
- Understand the theory of the various criteria specified in ICAO Document 8168 in the design of instrument procedures
